Pacific Shores @ LAFCo

Our Private Property Rights Are "Being "Dissed"

Our Property Tax Base Destroyed

Our Existing Tax Monies Wasted

&

Our Property Owners Disenfranchised

Right Under Our Collective Del Nortian Noses

dividerA.gif

And while we don't yet seem to smell it - it stinks to high heaven!

A small cabal of unethical "old guard" reactionaries are seeking to subvert private land use to their own perverse nonuse.

The Cabal, is expending huge amounts of local government time and budget dollars to rob us of present and future tax base; all the while limiting our constitutional rights of free association and private property  and the means to these rights. The Cabal must be must be stopped! We must resolutely say no to wastrel use of our tax dollars and erosion, at the local level, of our individual rights & personal freedoms.

The private property owners at Pacific Shores have been doing so for so long & are resolutely doing so again through "Protest Petitions",  LAFCo originally said; all they really wanted to do, was find out what the Pacific Shores property owners wanted (we have it on video record). Now they (Pacific Shores property owners) are telling 'em - in no uncertain terms & in overwhelming numbers!

(see docs & links below)

They don't want county reorganization & they don't want county dissolution. What they do want is the support the county originally gave & promised them at the beginning of the project & to use their property to provide for their own welfare. A right we Del Nortians all have & share.

JOHN MESSINA

P.O. Box 51148, San Jose, CA. 95151 (408) 238-4767

Greetings,
It is odd that at a time when benevolent Americans are working to bring water to isolated villages in Africa and other third world countries, the Stanford University Law School would use its power, might and financial resources to prevent a small northern California community from developing its water system. However, that is exactly what is being done by Deborah A. Sivas of the Stanford Environmental Law Clinic. She has filed what amounts to a frivolous slap suit against the Pacific Shores Subdivision California Water District in an attempt by radical environmentalists to keep the community from developing a clean, safe and reliable source of drinking water.
Why would they do this? There is only one reason apparent to me, that is to force the property owners to sell their land to the Smith River Alliance environmentalists at below market rates. These radical environmentalists would like to turn the 1700 lot subdivision into a park and don’t want to pay the property owners a fair price for their land.
Most of the Pacific Shores property owners purchased their ocean front properties in this legally created planned community for their retirement homes in 1964-65. That was before the formation of the California Coastal Commission, which has stymied most construction. The California Department of Fish & Game along with the environmentalists have waged a ongoing battle to force the people off of their properties. As soon as they began the legal process for building their water and sewer system Fish & Game even raised the level of the lake adjacent to the subdivision – flooding many of the properties. At one time the lake level got so high that the Sheriff had to rescue an elderly handicapped lady resident in a boat.
Stanford should use better judgment in how it uses its might. In this battle they are definitely on the wrong side. I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that Stanford would teach such morally depraved and unethical attorneys that winning is everything.
Very truly yours,
John Messina

WIPE OUT!!!!

The Sacramento Cons provided our public monies to their special interest shills to buy 25,000+ Del Norte acres and take it out of productive use; for the public to immediately meditate in, restore, retreat, recreate and re-create on our public land.

That was more than five years ago. Yet, to this day, our land is padlocked and shackled, locked away indefinitely from the public's use. No practical local use, no fishing, no hunting, no picnicking, no touring, no riding, no walking, no solitude-ing, no tourist-ing and NO RECOMPENSE (TAXES). An, another huge chuck of our county is OFF-LIMITS; to be enjoyed only by the State Parks' "Brown Shirts", their shills ("special interest stakeholders") and their chosen few.  All, a clear misuse of our taxes, violation of our understanding and travesty on our public rights.

Why? Because irresponsibility, foolishness, unwarranted extravagance and plain simple stupidity continues to infect our state governance from the arrogant control freak apparatchiks at the bottom all the way up to the ineffectual worthlessness of a state legislature led by yet another boneheaded gov; this time to the tune of $14.5B. Yet, these empty suits had the gall to try for an extension of their term limits. To cite the vernacular: "Throw Dah Bums Out"!

If, in this case, "good land stewardship" is to mean proper management of our public lands by serving the "widest diversity" with the "greatest sustainable good" State Parks failed miserably over the last 5 years; whereas, the government above them was far more efficient - it only took them a little more than 2 years. Please God, give us back our lands, our legacy and our rights, WE’LL save your environment.
