June 9, 2008 LAFCO Results are In,
or are they?

On June 9, 2008, LAFCO voted to dissolve our Water District on the basis that the property owners in Pacific Shores Failed to submit enough protest votes to keep our Water District.

Facts: When the protests were counted at that meeting, PSPOA noticed that over half of the protest votes were missing. We confronted the Director of LAFCO about this discrepancy and he said that he would search his office for the missing protest votes. On Thursday of that week, they found the other Protest documents.

The Del Norte Imag-Nation

In Del Norte, the kindling of ideas for the fires of achievement is laying all about us, begging for a spark of thought to ignite it all.

Doggedly nurtured through the start stages of smoke and match size flame our “tribal keepers of the fire” can bring forth a dazzling “can-do” communal torch.

On the way, local talented community coconscious constituents must contribute ever-larger pieces of creative energy to spur the “can–do” light along the way and they are, at least in this case.

The Lake Earl Grange is putting forth a plethora of citizens and they are being enjoined:

cropedGrassFirePic_07Small.jpg

-         Idea people to strike the match

-         Organizers to direct effort & maintain focused forward movement

-         Talented support to offer substance to the heat & light

-         Political adoption & recognition to drive it to the center of community activity & surmount barriers physical & psychological within and out

-         Skilled artisans to complete & make a permanent community feature.

Two of these “Imagination Projects” were so elegantly conceptualized in sketches above by the local talent, of world caliber, – Charles N. Slert. These could effectively put the Del Norte name out in front, middle and back so tourists can consider stopping turning right and / or left to visit; remembering as they leave to com’on back next time to stay and stay longer!

Three LAFCO Commissioners Force Unwilling

Disenfranchisement

In Del Norte

Shame Shame Shame

“… of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for redress of grievances."

When they say they care about the people’s interests – THEY DON'T!

When they say the private property owners at Pacific Shores are costing the Del Norte taxpayer – THEY AREN'T!

When they say they want to protect the wishes of private property owners – THEY DON'T!

When they say they are returning the tax monies to Pacific Shores private property owners – THEY AREN'T!

When they say the Pacific Shores Water District broke the law - IT HASN'T!

When they say they feel heart-fully sorry for private property owners – THEY DON'T!

When they say they regularly consult an authoritative lawyer on Pacific Shores actions – THEY DON'T!

When they say they fairly represent the people – THEY DON'T!

When they say large numbers of private property owners are protesting the Pacific Shores Water District - THEY AREN'T!

When they say all their actions are legal – THEY'RE NOT!

When they say they have no conflict of interests – THEY DO!

When they say they bring no bias to the Commission  THEY DO!

When they say there is absolutely no chance for private property hopes and dreams THERE IS!

AND FINALLY:

In spite of 352 hard copy written expressions of more than 600 Pacific Shores private property owners, easily over half the owners; all protesting LAFCo's actions - they are still being denied their rights of protection and choice by 3 LAFCO Commissioners using an obscure technicality.

When they promise, Promise On Record, there will be a fair up or down vote by Pacific Shores private property owning people THEY LIE!

Geez! - does this mean we can trust “them” – well you be the judge.

Community Hoodwinked

by the

Park Service

Do we really want more parks without any activities ?  We have almost no where to ride an OHV or ATV. We do not have a lodge. The park service in 1966 projected 1.7 million visitor days in the national park for 1983.  The reality was a stark 277 thousand.  Simply put the old management plan has failed the community. It needs to be reopened to this community. So what about the Mill Creek acquisition???

As I said last time; “… let's go... telling 'em we want a true "Public Park"; You remember those, don't you? A place were families could rest, walk, walk dogs, ride horses, bike and motor to secluded redoubts to fish, picnic and enjoy extended camping. After all is said and done - it is our public land and we are the public! Let's ask them how much of our "public 25,000 acres" the public will get to use and how much of our public park we will we be locked out of? “

From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters

Our State “brown shirted Civil Servants (AKA “enviro interpreters’) keep calling to US, along with their “stake holder groups” to “cross the Tees – dot the Iiis - & fill in their blanks”; so as to get the ok on their General Plan” and their hands on our "green sticker tax monies” to manage US off our “Public Lands” and rewrite the words to Woody’s song to read – “This Land Is Gov Land…” and they are telling US the Gov'll interpret its use i.e. General Plan..

Public recreation on public lands - what a novel idea – but these are dirty words to the Gov! … Unless we re-interpret them for CA State Parks at these public get togethers:

Yet, another case of how our politicians are erasing the public from public lands and taking the public lands out of public hands!

Why We Need Right to Ride Protection

When Senator Hubert Humphrey introduced the first wilderness bill in 1956, he assured the American public that "existing uses and privileges are respected in this bill," "this bill will not interfere with, but will perpetuate, the present multiple-purpose administration of these national forest areas." Provisions were made in the law to protect uses not nolmally considered to be 'wilderness uses' such as grazing, aitfields, and motor boats where these uses were already established. Use of pack and saddle stock was a dominant means of access, and it was beyond any one's comprehension that it would someday be crowded out by increased backpacking or regulated out to provide opportunities for a minority of foot travelers who simply prefer not to share the areas with recreational stock users. We believe 'Right to Ride' legislation is necessary and timely to correct the nation-wide trend of federal land managers and federal agencies unnecessarily limiting equestrian access to public lands. We are in the process of cataloguing a more comprehensive list of examples of problems we are ex-periencing, however, we have included a few below to illustrate our point:

Outside Legal Mercenaries

Enlisted To Crush Local Private Property Rights

So called “friends of the county”, obviously frustrated with local governance, have enlisted outside legal gorillas to thuggishly strong arm local land owners into surrender of private property rights now and private property later!

Is this our educational dollar at work? - being used to create a taxless desert in our community. After all, according to their thinking, negitive-growth IS sustainable.

Del Nortians, as my pappy used to say; “with friends like this – who needs enemies!?!”

Greetings,
It is odd that at a time when benevolent Americans are working to bring water to isolated villages in Africa and other third world countries, the Stanford University Law School would use its power, might and financial resources to prevent a small northern California community from developing its water system. However, that is exactly what is being done by Deborah A. Sivas of the Stanford Environmental Law Clinic. She has filed what amounts to a frivolous slap suit against the Pacific Shores Subdivision California Water District ... .
